Last updated October 17, 2026. Driver Challenge collects the minimum it needs to score driving fairly, never collects location data, and keeps everything in Canada.
Who we are
D2GO Solutions Inc. ("D2GO", "we", "us") makes Driver Challenge and Control Center, software that runs inside the Geotab platform (MyGeotab and Geotab Drive), and operates the website d2go.io. Our office is at 894 boulevard Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec J3H 6B7, Canada.
When we process information about your drivers and users, we do so on behalf of your organization, which decides why and how Driver Challenge is used. In privacy law terms, your organization is the controller (or the organization responsible for the information), and D2GO is its processor (or service provider).
Our person in charge of the protection of personal information is Louis-Philippe Papillon, reachable at security@d2go.io.
What Driver Challenge collects
Driver Challenge reads data from your Geotab database through a view-only service account created in your database during setup. It reads and stores only what scoring needs:
| Information | What it contains | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Driver identity | Geotab user identifier, name, first and last name, and employee number when you record one | Show rankings, scorecards and reports with names your managers recognize |
| Trip summaries | Driver, vehicle identifier, start and end times, distance, idling time, and fuel used where your vehicles report it | Compute rates per distance, idling cost and fuel economy |
| Rule events | Driver, rule, start and end times, duration, and who forgave an event and when | Score each rule you selected |
| Hours-of-service violations | Driver, type, reason, start and end times, if you enable this option | Include compliance in the challenge |
| Scores and rankings | Quarterly snapshots of each driver's score, distance, rule scores and rank | Show past quarters, trends and badges |
| Page views | The Geotab user identifier of a driver who opens Driver Challenge in Geotab Drive, and when | Show managers which drivers use the app |
| Configuration | Your selected rules, weights and settings, the service account's credentials, and your Geotab reseller's business contact details | Run the service and route support and billing |
Driver Challenge does not collect location data: no GPS positions, routes, addresses or zones. It does not collect driver contact details, and it does not profile drivers for any purpose other than the challenge your organization runs.
Acceptance of the end-user terms is recorded in your own Geotab database, not by D2GO.
How we use it
- To compute scores, rankings, badges and trends, and show them to your managers in MyGeotab and to your drivers in Geotab Drive.
- To send the reports your managers request, to the email address of their MyGeotab account.
- To operate, secure, support and improve the service.
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone for their own purposes.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small number of service providers, under contract and only for the purposes above:
- Google Cloud: hosting and database, in the Montréal region (Canada).
- Cloudflare: web application firewall and network protection for our services.
- HubSpot: the contact form on d2go.io and our customer records.
- Sinch Mailgun: delivery of the emails we send, such as report download links and account notifications. These emails contain links and account details, not driver scores.
Geotab and your Geotab reseller operate the platform Driver Challenge runs on, under their own privacy policies. We may disclose information when required by law.
Where it is stored
All Driver Challenge data is stored in Canada, on Google Cloud in Montréal. Your MyGeotab data itself stays wherever Geotab hosts your database. The emails we send are delivered through Sinch Mailgun, which may process them outside Canada.
How long we keep it
- Rule events: the current quarter and the six previous quarters, then deleted.
- Trip summaries: up to six quarters, then deleted.
- Quarterly score snapshots: for as long as your organization uses Driver Challenge, to show past quarters and trends.
- When your organization stops using Driver Challenge, everything we stored from its Geotab database, including scores and snapshots, is deleted when it is offboarded, within 90 days at the latest or sooner on request. The service account can also be deactivated in MyGeotab at any time.
How we protect it
See our security policy for hosting, encryption, access control and incident response.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), Canada's PIPEDA, the European GDPR and California's CCPA/CPRA give you rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict its use.
If you are a driver or user, please send your request to your employer first: they decide how Driver Challenge is used and we act on their instructions. We will help them answer it. You can also write to our person in charge of the protection of personal information at security@d2go.io, and you may complain to your privacy regulator, such as the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Cookies
The Driver Challenge add-ins do not use cookies or tracking technologies, and neither does d2go.io, apart from a session cookie when a reseller signs in to the reseller tools. The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, and its contact form is provided by HubSpot.
Children
Our services are meant for professional drivers and fleet staff of driving age. We do not knowingly collect information about children.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for significant changes, tell our customers in advance.
